History & Staff

We have years of experience creating memorials for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in quality, service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

Our History

Built in 1927 on the old bed of the Wabash & Erie Canal, Birkmeier Monument Company opened its doors at 2323 West Main Street in Fort Wayne to provide the very important service of memorialization to those in and around Allen County, Indiana.

We too have lost loved ones and know all too well that designing a memorial should be a consultation on beautiful, unique and affordable choices to best honor your loved one. We care about the families in our community and our pride in our work shows in each beautiful memorial we create.

With the largest indoor showroom in northern Indiana, families often compliment the variety of options on display that assist them in decision making. They also appreciate the fact that we are a one-stop solution, able to design, create and install the perfect memorial on their behalf.

To show our sincerity in being the best, our manager has studied and tested to earn the highly prestigious designation of Certified Memorialist. With only 108 CM’s worldwide and only two in the state of Indiana, this designation shows our commitment to being the most skilled and knowledgeable in all aspects of the memorial industry to better serve you.

You are welcome to stop by our showroom during regular business hours throughout the week, or call to schedule a private evening or weekend appointment to better fit your schedule. Take a tour through our facility and you will quickly see why we remain a strong pillar in this community.
